Ossen Girls High School received a surprise visit this morning from the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Julius Migos Ogamba.
The CS, who was accompanied by the area Member of Parliament and other dignitaries, was en route to Moi Teachers College, Seretunin, where he was scheduled to preside over this year’s graduation ceremony.
The students and staff, who are aiming for a mean score of 9.8 in the upcoming national examinations, were thrilled to host the CS.
The school administration seized the rare opportunity to present several requests, including the completion of ongoing construction projects.

Ossen Girls is one of the top-performing schools in Baringo County, excelling both academically and in co-curricular activities. For three consecutive years, the school has maintained impressive results, with mean scores of 7.4 in 2022, 9.2 in 2023, and 8.9 in 2024.
Earlier this year, the school also won at the Regional Kenya Science and Engineering Fair (KSEF) held in Maralal, Samburu County. Additionally, it represented the Rift Valley Region at the national level in both Robotics and Food Technology categories.
During his address, the CS encouraged the candidates to work hard to achieve their academic targets. He assured the students that the government is actively working to resolve issues affecting schools, including the ongoing challenges around funding.
