Alumni have been asked to go back to their schools and join with communities to support education development.
Dr.Walter Chanua who is a director of finance in Narok County said education is the backbone of any development and underscored the importance of joint effort from education stakeholders instead of depending on the government’s strained resources alone.
The director who spoke at St. John’s Nyansabakwa Secondary school in Nyamira South Sub County decried the falling standards of education in the region and appealed to alumni Associations of the institutions to come near to the school’s board management committees to prop them and revive the old academic glory of such institutions.
Chanua also donated 200 bags of cement to complete the construction of a multipurpose hall in Nyambaria National School and asked other elites from the region to follow suit.

The director praised the Catholic Church for championing the pioneering learning institutions like Nyansabakwa, Rangenyo Girls and Viongozi learning Centre which have produced many professionals now working in various sectors in the rest of the world.
He joined other leaders to celebrate two years since Nyansabakwa Catholic Church was elevated into a parish.
West Mugirango MP Steve Mogaka who too graced the occasion, lamented on the divisive politics which has stalled various education programs and development in Nyamira County.
” I will fight to the bitter end to ensure the divisive politics in Nyamira ends by advising President Ruto to go ahead and order the University opened and hosted in the ready buildings in Nyamira town as we try to agree on the most suitable place to build the University when I will bring him here next month.” He said.
