Cabinet Secretary for Education Julius Ogamba has reorganised leadership in public universities across Kenya. The revamp, announced through a gazette notice dated July 25, 2025, involves a host of new appointments and reappointments to various university councils.
The sweeping changes, done under powers granted by the Universities Act, are aimed at increasing governance, reinforcing policy direction, and ensuring stability within institutions of higher learning.

His reappointment was made “in exercise of the powers conferred by section 55 (3)(a) of the Universities Act, 2012.”
