Interior Security Principal Secretary (PS) Raymond Omollo has praised the church for the pivotal role they play in the promotion of education, health, Peace and security in the country.
He said that most of the early churches like the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) and the Catholic Church initiated and built early schools that produced important people in this country, who accompanied their religious ethics with education to their respective places of work to produce desirable results.
“Some of us who were brought up in church can recall when the words of our elders were law that guided us for the rest of our lives and I don’t know where the rains started to beating our young people to start overlooking our elders,” he said.
The PS was speaking at Kendu Adventist Hospital during their centenary celebrations whose theme was”100 Years of healing Ministry”
He was flanked by his counterparts in the Ministry of health Dr.Ouma Oluga and Mary Muthoni among other dignitaries.

Dr Omolo also asked residents to register with SHA in big numbers to enable them get easy and cheaper health services for themselves and their children especially the school going children whose good performance depends on good health.
“If you want a prosperous life bring up your children in a Christian environment, take them to school and provide them with good health because these three things are inseparable in the meaningful life,” he said.
Saying that his main role in his ministry is to help in the daily functioning of ensuring security in the country, he asked each citizen to be their brothers’ keeper adding that security begins from an individual.
He asked residents to restrain themselves from rhetoric politics but instead to involve themselves in constructive work of attending their farms and small trading activities to enable them stay a calm and contend life.
“We do not restrict you from your talking all you want to say but make sure you talk positively,” he said.

The PS in the Ministry of Health, State Department and Medical services Dr.Ouma Oluga said the people who have registered for SHA have reached 56 percent and advised them to encourage one another to register because the scheme is essential for their health welfare.
“Tell a friend to tell a friend to register in this noble exercise geared towards relieving our people from the burden of paying huge hospital bills,” he said.
He asked teachers in every school to guide their pupils how they can sensitize their parents on the importance of being members of any health insurance for the easy way of treating that diseases attack anyone without notice.
