Parents and other education stakeholders have been called upon to stop misuse of social media to spread propaganda about schools.
As a result, teacher’s seniors have been encouraged to make sure they visit the ground and make thorough findings whenever they get those reports from social media. He noted that schools should not be politicized at all.
Speaking at AIC Malivani Comprehensive School during annual general meeting (AGM) Makueni branch KNUT vice chairman Benjamin Kimanthi said it was good for parents to use social media wisely rather than spreading propaganda fighting their own schools.

“Do not taint the name of the schools and school heads. The principals are working day in day out to make sure our children are in better place,” Kimanthi said.
He called upon parents to support teachers instead of fighting them through social media.
On the emerging issue of scrapping off hardship allowance, he called for all those who love teachers, to support them when they say no to scrapping of hardship allowance.
“I am sure teachers may leave the job since they will be in big financial problem,”Kimanthi added.
