Education CS tells TSC to treat teachers with respect

Education CS Julius Ogamba during the World Teachers' Day in Nakuru. He asked TSC to treat teachers with respect to give them ample time to perform their duties.

Education CS Julius Ogamba has asked government agencies, particularly TSC, to treat teachers with respect and motivate them to be able to perform their duties effectively.

“All government agencies in the Ministry of Education like TSC should treat teachers with respect, listen to their voices and address their problems in accordance with the laws to enable teachers work well,” he said.

Speaking in Nakuru County during World Teachers Day, the CS said the government will continue employing teachers to reduced shortage, which has caused poor performance in some schools.

Praising teachers for their good work in transforming learners into useful people in society, he said they should be appreciated for the tireless work they do.

“We should unite and work as brothers and sisters to ensure our sons and daughters in our education institutions receive quality education which is a key to sustainable development,” he added.

Speaking in the same function, KNUT Secretary General Collins Oyuu said the union will continue to support any government policy or directive that is geared at improving the quality of education in the country.

On his part, TSC Director of Legal  Affairs Calvin Anyuor, who represented the CEO Nancy Macharia, said the commission will continue to performed its duties in accordance with the laws to ensure the Kenya child gets quality education.
