Cabinet Secretary (CS) for Labour and Social Protection, Dr. Alfred Mutua has convened an inter-ministerial meeting to address the ongoing strike by university lecturers, seeking a timely resolution to ensure resumption of learning in universities.

The meeting aims to facilitate discussions among various ministries and stakeholders to seek a solution that meets the demands of the striking dons while ensuring the stability of the higher education sector.
Dr. Mutua emphasized the necessity of collaboration in finding a sustainable solution that addresses the concerns raised by university staff.
As the strike continues, there is increasing pressure on the government to act swiftly to restore normalcy in universities.
The outcome of the dialogue is anticipated to play a critical role in determining the future of university operations and the welfare of its employees.
Further developments will be closely monitored.
