Body of missing varsity student found in city morgue

The search for a missing second-year student from the University of Nairobi ended in shock yesterday when his body was discovered at the City Mortuary in Nairobi.

The slain varsity student,Frankline Ondwari was arrested at the onset of the anti-government protests on Tuesday, July 16 and released the following day.

Upon arriving home, he plugged in his phone to charge, went out, and never returned.

The family members became worried when their attempts to locate him were unsuccessful. No one knew exactly where he had gone or what had happened to him.

According to city mortuary report, Ondwari’s body was allegedly discovered hanging in a washroom located in a nearby building adjacent to his rented house.

Police reportedly visited the scene and transported the body to the City mortuary, where it was identified by family members yesterday after a lengthy search.

The detectives will conduct a post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death, investigating whether the student died by suicide or if the scene was staged.
