Rongo University student stabbed to death

A third-year student at Rongo University pursuing Bachelor of Science in Communication and Journalism has died by stabbing.

Reportedly, the victim met his untimely demise while he and a friend were engaged in a drinking session outside the campus on Monday night.

According to the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Samuel Gudu, a heated disagreement erupted between the two friends for reasons yet unknown, culminating in one of them stabbing the other.

The wounded student was rushed to Tabaka Mission Hospital in Kisii County, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival and was preserved at the hospital’s mortuary.

Prof. Gudu called for a swift investigation into the tragic death of a student, as grieving parents and relatives demand justice for their loss.

The VC offered condolences to the bereaved family on behalf of the University.

Migori County Police Commander Francis Nguli confirmed the incident, revealing that the police had apprehended the suspect to aid in their ongoing investigations.
