The Ministry of Education has undertaken another round of transfers of its county directors barely four months after performing a similar exercise.
In the latest reshuffle, long-serving Makueni County Director of Education (CDE), Gachungi James Murithi has been moved to Mombasa in a similar capacity.
He will replace his counterpart, Peter Magiri who has now been deployed to the Central Regional Director’s office for assignment of new duties.

Also affected by the changes is Zachary Mutuiri Gitonga, the Nyamira CDE who has now been parachuted to Lamu in a similar position.
Curiously, Mutuiri had just been deployed to the new station recently having been moved to Nandi from Kericho in a space of less than a year.

He will replace Joshua Kaga who has been the local CDE for quite some time. The latter’s fate was unclear at press time.
In the same changes as earlier reported by Education News, long-serving Kakamega CDE, Dickson Ogonya has been deployed to the Nyanza RDEs office to take over new assignments.

He will be replaced by Hellen Nyang’au who has been the CDE of the neighbouring Vihiga County.
Nyang’au’s replacement is David Koech who has been the Samburu CDE.
It was not immediately possible to confirm who takes over from Koech in Samburu.
