Principals have voted Mombasa City as the most preferred venue for the upcoming Kenya Secondary Schools Head association (KESSHA) conference to be held between 18th to 27th November 2022.

Eleven Principals chose Mombasa as their preferred venue for the conferences which will bring school heads together to reflect, share ideas and refresh their physical and mental health.

Mombasa has been for a very long time a preferred destination due to its cool climate, cheap accommodation, private and public beaches, rich history and wide range of leisure activities.

The City’s other attractions are the Mombasa Marine Park, Mamba Village, Bombolulu Cultural Centre and the Fort Jesus built by the Portuguese in 1593.

According to the 2022 Economic Survey, the port city had the highest life expectancy of the four cities in the country.

The second most preferred venue was Kisumu City voted for by six Principals.

Located in the periphery of the largest freshwater lake in Africa – Lake Victoria – the City lures visitors with the Lake’s cool breeze, a number of beaches including Dunga Beach and Wetlands famous for its exclusive rich culture and biodiversity, the Kisumu Museum, the Impala Sanctuary, Boat trips and Kayaking  in the Lake among other activities.

Nakuru was voted third and was preferred due to its proximity to Nairobi and affordable lifestyle.

The City’s Lake Nakuru is its main attraction and it is an acknowledged UNESCO World Heritage Site due to being the famous flamingos’ habitat.

It is also home to renowned historic sites such as Menengai Crater, Lord Egerton Castle, Soysambu Conservancy and the Hyrax Hill site.

Naivasha was voted fourth with Eldoret and Narok following close behind.
