Aspirants urged to support educational development projects

Awendo Member of Parliament Walter Sirawa has urged his political rivals to shun from politicizing education projects.

Speaking to the parents of form one students who benefitted from the National Government Constituency Development Fund (NGCDF) at NGCDF offices in Awendo town, the legislator urged the locals to focus on embracing education for the sake of securing a brighter future for their children.

“We must be focused towards producing better professionals from our region to help improve our living standards. As parents, we must support our children to attain better grades in school to enable them pursue occupations of their dreams.” said Sirawa.

Sirawa said that they have awarded scholarship to one hundred and thirty 2021 form one students ,who will join the list of other students in tertiary institutions under the NGCDF scholarship program.

He urged students to remain focused on education and to shun from peer pressure that might derail their academic achievements.

 The NGCDF is currently sponsoring 1,780 students  in tertiary institutions,4,439 secondary schools students  within the constituency, 3,115 in secondary schools in other constituencies, 122 fully sponsored-students and 109 students currently at Siruti technical training institution at a cost of 37 million shillings.
