Tetu Rising Initiative (TRI), an organisation for a local philanthropist in Tetu constituency has pledged to pay form one start-up feefor 350 students. The organization will also provide stipends and personal effects to the form ones.
The students were drawn from Aguthii Gaaki, Dedan Kimathi and Wamagana wards.
According to the initiative’s founder Geoffrey Wandeto, the sponsorship programme which he unveiled in 2016, has grown over the years and benefited students from 61 schools across the constituency.
Speaking at Kangaita PCEA church during the award of scholarships to the beneficiaries, Wandeto said that their progamme also included offering motivation to students in the period before their national exams and gifting them with items required during exams like geometry sets, pens and even success cards,” Wandeto said.
