Invest in education, VC tells residents

The Vice Chancellor of Kisii University has appealed to the residents to value quality education for the present and future sustainability.

Professor John Akama asked parents to use the vicinity of Kisii University to acquire affordable education for their children.

He was addressing mourners at Menyinkwa village within the outskirts of the university.

Professor Akama said that Kisii University is among the globally respected institutions of higher learning.

He singled out the School of Law in the university which he said received international approvals after producing some of the best graduates in the world.

”I would like the community to see the university as their only great institution that they will use to chase poverty from their homes by bring their children here”, he said.

Saying that one of the main roles of universities in the world is to research and solve societal problems, Akama said that Kisii University had embarked fully on research to get curative medicine for the Coronavirus pandemic.
