19,714 Uasin Gishu students currently sit for KCSE exams

A total of 19,714 students in Uasin Gishu County are currently undertaking the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.

The County Director of Education, John Thiringi, provided an update after inspecting the ongoing exams in Moiben Sub-County.

“Out of the total student population, 9,687 are boys, while 10,057 are girls,” he stated.

Thiringi further assured the press that the exams commenced as scheduled, with no reported special cases or irregularities.

Uasin Gishu County boasts 238 examination centers, comprising 42 private and 196 public centers.

“Additionally, there are 75 male and 112 private candidates participating in the exams,” Thiringi noted.

Thiringi emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for exam irregularities, warning that violators would face legal consequences.

He further highlighted that security measures have been robustly implemented across all exam centers, with at least two officers assigned to each location.

Thiringi expressed confidence in the security arrangements, assuring that the exams would proceed without interference.
