1500 candidates sitting for exams at Human Resource Professional body

The Human Resource Management Professionals Examinations Board (HRMPEB), which offers certificates for Certified Human Resource Professionals (CHRP), saw a sum of over 1, 500 candidates sit for the exams which kicked off yesterday, June 12, 2024.

The surge in numbers implies that the practice of Human Resource has taken root in the country as a result of new job opportunities available for students recognised by The Institute of Human Resource Management (IHRM).

The CHRP exams will takes place from June 11 to June 19, across seven centers including Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru, Eldoret, Thika, Kisumu, and Nanyuki. Candidates sitting exams private and institutions based.

HRMPEB acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Margaret Nguu underscored the growth as a result of the board’s commitment to enhance the HR competency as well as the increasing recognition and demand of programmes offered.

“Over the years, the number of candidates has grown significantly, showcasing a rising interest in professional HR qualifications. In response to this growth, we have expanded our network of examination centres, ensuring greater accessibility for candidates across the country.

“HRMPEB continues to lead the charge in developing and certifying competent HR professionals, adhering to the highest standards of education and assessment. Our sustained efforts are focused on equipping HR practitioners with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in their careers and contribute meaningfully to their organisations,” she said.

The CHRP exams which were inseminated in 2017 with the one on-going being in the 15th cycle will end on June 19, 2024.
