The Ministry of Education, in collaboration with a German recruiting consultant firm, BBW Group, is set to offer young Kenyans with technical and vocational skills the opportunity to work in various industries in Germany.

The Cabinet Secretary of Education Ezekiel Machogu, held discussions with Mr. Volker Falchi, the Managing Director of BBW Group, during a recent meeting at Jogoo House.

They were joined by government officials, including Principal Secretaries for Higher Education & Research, Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET), as well as representatives from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Diaspora Affairs, and Labour.

Kenya’s well-trained young workforce has impressed Falchi, who plans to recruit 250,000 individuals from around the world for various industries in Germany.

He emphasized the need for candidates to demonstrate strong work ethics, a willingness to learn the German language, and the technical competencies and skills required by German industries.

“This collaboration aims to bridge the gap between skilled workers and the industries that require their expertise, with a focus on fields such as electrical & electronics engineering, mechanical engineering, welding & fabrication, and mechatronics,” he stated.

He further explained that it underscores the importance of linking education and industry to create opportunities for Kenyan youth while meeting Germany’s labor needs.
