Winners of the recently concluded Kenya Music Festival 2023 will today perform before President William Ruto at Nakuru State House.
At least 600 classes were showcased during the 95th school music festival which was held at Dedan Kimathi University in Nyeri.
Central region was this year’s star after it was vetted as the best region in the country and was awarded the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) trophy.
Consequently, Thika School for the Visually Impaired from the Central region scooped the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) trophy after it was vetted as the best special needs education primary school in the country.
Others included; Rev. Muhoro who won the national police service trophy under the best special needs education secondary school across the country as well as Thogoto Teachers Training Collage (TTC) which won the Public service commission trophy for emerging as the best TTC across the country.
At the same time, Kitengela international school from the eastern region bagged the Communication Authority of Kenya (CAK) trophy for being the best early childhood development school.
Musalia Mudavadi primary school in the western region also bagged the CAK trophy for the best primary school in the country.
In the best junior secondary school category, Kianda School from Nairobi region won the Kenya Tourism Board trophy as Ramogi Institute of Advanced Technology (RIAT) from the Nyanza region bagged the URAIA trophy for being vetted as the best Technical Training Institute (TTI) in the country.
Also, the Eldoret National Polytechnic from the rift valley region won the KUCCPS trophy for the best national polytechnic category as Kenyatta University from Nairobi region scooped the CAK trophy for being the best university across the country.
Lastly, Santa Maria High School from Rift Valley bagged the SEPU trophy for the best Kipsigis, Nandi, Tugen folk song and dance as Nairobi county won the KICD trophy for being the best count.
