The campaign for the various positions in the forthcoming elections of Kenya Union of Post Primary Teachers(KUPPET) in various counties is going on as every aspirant is crisscrossing schools using all ways to sell their manifestos to teachers for them to be elected.
In West Pokot, Mathew Merimuk an aspirant for the position of West Pokot KUPPET Executive Secretary position, has hit the road running with the hope of clinching the seat and change the welfare of teachers within the region.
Speaking to Education News, Merimuk said he is before the West Pokot Teachers to be elected as County Executive Secretary with promise to serve all teachers within county fairly so that they can enjoy the fruits of being union members.

“I am committed to ensure my leadership as a new KUPPET Executive Secretary in West Pokot County next year. I will ensure the union purchase a land we construct a permanent office to strengthen the muscles of the union in our County, we will also ensure every school has KUPPET Representative to ensure better service deliver to all our esteem teachers wherever they are”, said Merimuk.
Other things that he will champion in the branch include a fair Burial Benovelent Fund(BBF), acquiring a branch van, ensuring all teachers have an Annual Teachers’ Fun and Sports Day, organizing Mental Wellness and Motivational Day, among others.
“Through my leadership as KUPPET Executive Secretary in West Pokot we will ensure Annual Teachers Fun and Sports Day, KUPPET organise Sports, team games and entertainment which winners will awarded and every teachers will be motivated in the event”, highlight Merimuk.
