Vihiga Boys Senior School has registered a major success at the ongoing 2026 National Music Festival, emerging winners in two highly competitive categories.

The Vihiga-based institution clinched Position One in the Mixed Set Piece and Position One in Zilizopendwa with Accompaniment, reaffirming its growing reputation in co-curricular activities.

The double victory capped an impressive showing by the school’s music team, whose performance was characterised by precision, coordination and artistic expression.

The achievement has been attributed to the concerted efforts of the students, music teachers, school administration, parents and the wider school community.

Senior Principal Albert Masiolo commended the performers for their commitment and discipline, noting that the results were a product of sustained preparation and teamwork.

Masiolo said the students had demonstrated that talent, when matched with discipline, dedication and proper preparation, can translate into outstanding results on the national stage.
