The Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA) has conducted TVET Quality accreditation audit, an exercise which is part of the statutory requirements for the institution’s compliance with the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Act, relevant regulations and established quality assurance standards.
The audit, conducted on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at JKUAT TVET Institute and led by Mary Munyi supported by Jackline Barongo, Phoebe Makinga and Noah Koech, show audit team outlined the scope, objectives and methodology of the audit exercise.
The Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Academic Affairs, Prof. Robert Kinyua, speaking during the exercise said, the audit was an important quality improvement process taking place at the time when the JKUAT TVET Institute is planning to expand into establishing TVET centers in Mombasa and Nakuru.

The auditors conducted physical inspection of classrooms, laboratories, library, hostel and other facilities to verify adequate safety, and suitability for training delivery at the newly established TVET institute.
The audit concluded with an exit meeting where the auditors presented preliminary findings, recommendations and provided guidance on areas of improvement.
The auditors noted that they were impressed with JKUAT TVET Institute’s level of excellence and readiness during the process. The institute acknowledged the feedback from the auditors and committed to address all recommendations made to enhance compliance and to support successful accreditation.
Director of TVET commended the team for their high level of excellence, commitment and preparedness during the audit process.
