TSC replaces embattled principal in Kisii after threats by parents

samwel Mweruti takes over as the Principal Amabuko Secondary School from Rawlins Juma.

TSC has replaced the principal of Amabuko Secondary School and transferred the incumbent after numerous complaints from parents over poor examination results.

Rawlins Juma, the embattled principal, will be replaced by Samuel Mweruti.

The parents complained last week, alleging incompetence of the principal to manage the school and gave him 72 hours to vacate or face their wrath.

Among the accusations levelled against him were drunkenness, mistreatment of support staff and misappropriation of school funds by compromising the institution’s accounts clerk.

Their indignation reached boiling point when there was not a single student who qualified for university from the 2023 candidate class.

Some threatening leaflets were then scattered near the school, ordering the principal to pack up and leave.

Kisii Police Commander said he had not received complaints on the same but promised to carry out investigations into the matter.

When Education News learned of the transfer, we tried to reach new Kisii County Quality Assurance and Standards Officer (QASO) Adenya Mayodi and Kisii County Director of Education Philip Chirchir for comment but could not raise either.
