The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has been forced to make changes on the recent transfers of Regional Directors (RDs) owing to some political pressure from some quarters.
Education News has established that Victoria Muoka who had been deployed from Nairobi to Central has now been re-routed to Western. She was to replace Elijah Omwenga who was to proceed from Central to Western.
As things stand, Omwenga will be retained in Central following what insiders attributed to intense pressure from some influential forces within Government who wanted the man to remain in Nyeri for strategic reasons.
In the changes made by the TSC recently, Dr. Samwel Marigat who was in Rift Valley RD, was transferred to Nairobi to replace Muoka. The latter will now replace Joseph Mugele who retired as Western RD mid last year.
Wilson Koros who was acting RD in the region as well as Kakamega County Director (CD) was promoted and sent to Eastern as the new RD.

Koros replaced Adow Bardad who was redeployed to Rift Valley where he had served earlier. Coast RD, Fredrick Ng’ang’a was also affected in the reshuffle and has been moved to TSC headquarters for assignment of duties. His place has been taken up by Lilian Wachira who has been the Deputy Director for Staffing at the TSC headquarters.
Omwenga, a seasoned TSC field officer, has served in Nyeri for over seven years having initially worked as the County Director (CD) and later as RD after being promoted and curiously retained in the same station.
He has also served as the Deputy Director (DD) in Kakamega, Trans-Nzoia, Kwale and later Marsabit before being elevated to CD in a deserved progression.
