The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has issued a directive to all County Directors to nominate Agriculture teachers for the 2025 National Agricultural Teacher Conference.

The event, organised by the Agricultural Society of Kenya, will take place from August 6 to 8, 2025, at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT).

In a memo dated July 4 2025, TSC stated that each of Kenya’s 47 counties is expected to nominate 20 Agriculture teachers, bringing the total number of participants to 940.

The commission emphasised the need to submit the final list of nominated teachers by July 11, 2025, to allow adequate time for planning and communication with the event organisers.

The memo, signed by Dr. Lilian N. Mwangi, Acting Director of Staffing, outlines the logistics of the three-day conference.

A participation fee of Kshs. 9,500 per teacher will cover seminar tuition, study materials, coordination, and meals during breaks.

Accommodation will be provided at JKUAT.

Teachers are expected to report to the university on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 3 pm. Schools have been requested to cover travel and incidental expenses for their respective participants.

The annual conference aims to support the professional development of Agriculture teachers and enhance their contribution to the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

It will also provide a platform for sharing innovations and best practices in agricultural education, which is a key component of Kenya’s economic and educational development goals.
