In an effort to protect the well-being of the nation’s youth, a commissioner at the Teacher’s Service Commission (TSC), Timon Oyucho, has urged the Interior Ministry to take decisive action against funeral discos.
Speaking in Seme Sub-County, Oyucho emphasizing the potential harm these events pose, appealed to Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki to institute a permanent ban on disco matangas.
Oyucho pointed out the destructive impact of these gatherings, citing instances of lives lost and unwanted pregnancies resulting from reckless activities at such vigils.
He also highlighted the susceptibility of attendees to various ailments and the increased risk of falling victim to criminal activities associated with these events.
In light of these concerns, the TSC Commissioner advocated for a comprehensive ban on funeral discos as the only effective measure to combat the adverse effects on the community.
This move aligns with previous actions by various government agencies aiming to restrict these gatherings due to their detrimental impact on teenagers.
