Tragedy strikes as Grade 9 pupil found dead at Ang’ata Barrikoi, Narok

Tension and grief have gripped Enkoiperian Village in Angata Barrikoi Ward after a Grade 9 pupil from Enkoiperian Comprehensive School was found dead early this morning while on her way to sit for the ongoing national examinations.

According to Robert Kirui, Assistant Chief of Oldonyo Orok Sub-location, the student was heading to school when the tragic incident occurred.

The circumstances surrounding her death are yet to be established, and police have launched investigations to determine the cause.

Local residents described the event as shocking, noting that the area is generally peaceful.

“We are deeply saddened. It is hard to believe that something like this could happen to a young girl going to school,” said a community elder who preferred anonymity.

The incident has raised concerns over student safety along common school routes in the area.

Parents and local leaders have called for increased security measures to ensure that learners can travel safely, particularly during national examination periods when many students are on the move early in the morning.

Transmara South sub-county officials have appealed for calm and assured the community that authorities are treating the matter with utmost seriousness.

They urged residents to avoid speculation until investigations are complete.
