The shocking incident came to light on Tuesday late afternoon when screams from women fetching firewood in a nearby forest attracted the attention of local residents.

According to the reports, the victim, a Grade 6 pupil whose name has been withheld, had gone missing since Sunday, November 16, whereby the family members spent Sunday night desperately searching the village for her, eventually reporting her disappearance to the Escarpment Police Post and the Chief’s office.
