Three pupils die in tragic road accident in Murang’a

Three pupils succumbed to injuries after they were involved in a grisly accident when the school bus they were travelling in veered off the road in Murang’a County.

The three were confirmed dead after the bus belonging to Maadili School rolled several times in Ruiru area along Murang’a Gitugi road.

Murang’a County Police Commander David Mathiu said others, including the teachers and the driver, are being attended to at Murang’a Level Five Hospital.

Mathiu said one died on the spot as two others gave in while being undergoing treatment at the health facility.

“Two are in the ICU unit following their condition,” said Mathiu.

Murang’a Governor Irungu Kang’ata visited the victims at the hospital and wished them a quick recovery.

“We appeal to drivers to be cautious when they are on the road,” said the governor.

The bus had 40 occupants and was coming from Nyeri where they had attended a scouting event.
