Tenwek High School mourns passing of Chemistry teacher

The Tenwek High School community in Bomet is mourning the sudden passing of Mr. Lawi Lang’at, a dedicated Chemistry teacher celebrated for his energy in the laboratory, mentorship, and devotion to students’ academic excellence.

The Tenwek High School community is mourning the loss of Lawi Lang’at, a respected Chemistry teacher whose sudden passing has shocked colleagues, students, and the wider education fraternity.

He is reported to have passed away yesterday at his father’s home in Siongiroi, Bomet.

In a statement issued by the school administration, Lang’at was described as a dedicated and passionate educator who consistently demonstrated commitment to academic excellence and the holistic development of learners.

His energy in the laboratory, his mentorship to young students, and his calm leadership within the school community were fondly remembered.

The Board of Management, represented in earlier communication by the Secretary, also offered sympathies to the family and the entire Tenwek fraternity, noting that his loss is not only personal but deeply felt across the school and the greater learning community.

As funeral arrangements continue, the school has assured the family of its support during this difficult moment, while encouraging students and staff to stand together in prayer and solidarity.
