Teachers across the country have been urged to submit their individual income tax returns before the today’s June 30 deadline to avoid penalties and remain compliant with tax regulations.
According to a circular issued by the Teachers Service Commission (TSC), all teachers and secretariat staff are required to file their 2025 income tax returns through the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) iTax platform by the close of business today, June 30, 2026.
The commission noted that employees can access and download their P9 forms through the TSC T-Pay portal to facilitate the filing process.

Former employees who are no longer on the T-Pay system have been advised to obtain the documents from the nearest TSC county office.
TSC further encouraged teachers experiencing challenges in filing their returns to seek assistance from the commission’s Accounts Division or visit KRA service centres located across the country.
Failure to file tax returns by the stipulated deadline may attract penalties as provided under the Income Tax Act.
With only hours remaining before the deadline lapses, teachers who have not yet filed their returns have been advised to do so immediately to avoid last-minute system congestion and possible sanctions from KRA.
