President Ruto delivers assorted digital devices to Kipsoen TVC under Jitume Labs

President William Ruto tours the college guided by the Kipsoen TVC Principal.

President William Ruto recently delivered computers and other digital devices to Kipsoen Technical and Vocational College in Elgeyo Marakwet under the government’s Jitume Labs initiative aimed at creating platforms for digital space utilization.

While presenting the devices, President Ruto assured of the government’s commitment to equipping the youth with digital skills  to enable them leverage on the digital space to create jobs and work virtually.

The Head of State said his administration aim of linking the youth with international market through digital arena was on course.

Speaking at the function, the president  said the government is committed to imparting the youthful population with requisite skills, thus preparing them for international online market.

He called on the young people to open up their minds and venture into online marketing in a way of monetizing their skills; giving a shot to e-commerce as the new way of doing business.

Revealing that the Technical Training Institutions (TTIs) have had increased number of students since Kenya Kwanza administration took power, Ruto expressed pleasure of the students in the institution who have had their skills fetch money online saying they are testament that online jobs pay and a new frontier of job opportunities for the youth in the country.

“I am delighted that our mission in improving digital platform in the country accessible for our youth. I call upon the young people to take up the opportunity of online jobs by monetizing their digital skills to earn. We are committed to availing internet connectivity to various parts of the country to make this venture a reality”, remarked the president.

At the same time,  Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisley Rotich applauded the initiative saying the digital devices received in the county will be distributed to other TTIs  including Chepsirei,Kapcherop and Kerio valley.
