The Principal of St. Mary’s Mabera Girls in Kuria West, Migori County, Mary Obondo, has been suspended following allegations of her teachers’ involvement in facilitating exam malpractice during the KCSE.

An investigation by the DCI revealed that she allowed five teachers to collude in the Chemistry paper.

The teachers allegedly sat in the school’s church, transmitting answers to candidates via mobile phones.

Suna East Sub county Commissioner Milkah Kariuki confirmed the arrests, noting that the case is now with the court.

“The suspects were found in possession of 30 confiscated phones,” she stated.

Normalcy returns at St Mary’s Mabera Girls School in Migori County.

Reportedly, the center supervisor Alper Marceline and 14 invigilators were suspended and immediately replaced.

Migori County Director of Education Jacob Onyiego assured parents of their children’s safety, stating that normalcy has returned to the affected center.

He emphasized the commitment to addressing examination irregularities and warned supervisors, center managers, and invigilators against engaging in malpractice, as the law would prevail.
