The education fraternity in Kimilili Sub-County has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of Jane Wafula, principal of St. Elizabeth Sibakala Secondary School.
Wafula collapsed on Thursday while delivering a presentation at a principal’s meeting held in Eldoret. Witnesses said she had just begun addressing her colleagues when she suddenly fell, sparking panic in the hall.
Fellow principals and attendees rushed to her aid, making frantic efforts to resuscitate her as they awaited medical assistance. Despite the swift response, Wafula was later pronounced dead, casting a dark shadow over the gathering.

Her passing has left students, parents, and colleagues devastated. Many described her as a hardworking administrator deeply committed to academic excellence and the welfare of her learners.
Education stakeholders across Kimilili Sub-County and Bungoma County have expressed sorrow at the loss, terming it a major setback for the region’s education sector. Messages of condolence continue to pour in as the community struggles to come to terms with the tragedy.
