A girl approximated to be about five years has been found brutally murdered by unknown people in Mlolongo, Mavoko Sub-county of Machakos County.
According to a police report, the body of little girl who was not identified immediately was wrapped in a sack and thrown into River Kasina near Green Valley Estate.
Her body was found by members of the public who raised the alarm.
Police from Mlolongo Police Station arrived at the scene and took the body away.
According to Athi River East Sub-county Police Commander Anderson Njagi, the girl was murdered somewhere else and her body dumped at the scene.
The police boss said that there were no reported cases of missing children from the nearby police stations.
He called upon anyone aware of a lost girl or information that may lead to solving the mystery surrounding the murder to report to the nearest police station.
“The girl could have been killed between 16 and 18 of August. We are appealing to anyone with information that may help with the investigations to come forward,” he said.
He said DCI sleuths have commenced investigations into the chilling incident.
