Parents of Vitengeni division in Ganze sub county, Kilifi county are fearing for the lives of their school children who are in danger following the break out of fifty marauding elephants from Tsavo East National Park.
Speaking to Education News at Kang’amboni village through their spokesperson, Mr. Julius Kazungu, the parents asked Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) officials to quickly drive away the stray elephants.
They further added that the fear had affected their children psychologically and also hindered them from going to school thus disrupting learning in the area.

Their farms were not left behind as the jumbos destroyed their cassava and banana plantations crippling their economic state as they could not settle their bills including school fees.
When contacted for comments, Mwahera Senior Chief Mr. Alfred Safari Deri confirmed the situation and added that KWS officials at Gede had already been notified and promised to return the elephants to their habitat.
Mr. Deri urged the officials the fasten the process so that children resume schooling.
