Scholarship will only benefit vulnerable students, Bungoma Governor

Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka

Bungoma Governor Kenneth Lusaka has emphasized that the County Scholarship program will exclusively benefit vulnerable students.

In a press briefing on Monday, Lusaka sternly cautioned against any bias in the vetting process, emphasizing that scholarships will be granted solely to students demonstrating financial need and vulnerability.

“The ongoing selection process will adhere to strict procedures to ensure transparency and uphold the integrity of the program. No deserving student will be overlooked,” he stated.

Lusaka also urged women to form economic empowerment groups, recognizing women’s empowerment as a vital tool for community development.

“I encourage women to establish productive groups to enhance their bargaining power,” he added.

Highlighting the importance of utilizing available resources, Lusaka mentioned the Women Empowerment Funds and called on women to start planning for the upcoming County trade loan distribution.
