Religious leaders from different backgrounds in Kakamega have vowed to train the youth against violence and chaos during the electioneering period.

Speaking today at Jamia mosque in Kakamega town during an inter faith meeting, the religious leaders guaranteed to train the young people about peace building during this volatile period.

They assured that they will take an initiative of moving through each ward across the County sensitizing the public especially the youth about peaceful elections before the 2022 general elections.

They were led by the inter-faith council chairman Rev. Faustus Mpapale, Sheikh Ibrahim Sadala and Sheikh Idris Mohammed of Kakamega County Imams and preachers of Kenya.

The leaders said it was paramount to preach peace in western region regardless of the difference in political party affiliations saying we still needed each other beyond 2022 politics.

The leaders also asked parents to guide their Sons and daughters in the right way saying peace begins at home and so parents had a vital role to play in maintaining it.

The group also cautioned some rogue politicians to stop misusing the young people to achieve their selfish interests during the campaign period.
