National boys’ volleyball champions Cheptil Boys High School have underlined their title credentials with a dominant 3-0 (25-14, 25-12, 25-14) victory over Kambaa Boys in their final group-stage match during the ongoing Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) Term Two Games in Kakamega County.
The win not only capped a perfect run in the preliminary round for the Rift Valley giants but also secured them a place in the semi-finals, where they will now face Mwaluphamba Secondary School. Mwaluphamba head into the semis after a dramatic five-set loss to Malava Boys (15-25, 23-25, 25-12, 25-18, 15-13), a result that still earned them a last-four berth.
On the other side of the boys’ semi-final bracket, former champions Malava Boys will battle Gogo Secondary School, who booked their semi-final ticket with a three straight-set victory over Furaha Boys (25-17, 25-10, 25-21).
The stage is now set for thrilling matchups as Cheptil aims to defend its crown against a strong field of contenders.
