The Ministry of Education (MoE) Teso North sub-county officers are a happy lot after they received a brand new Isuzu pickup truck.
The Sub County Director of Education (SCDE) Elizabeth Marangach welcomed the gesture from the MoE, saying the vehicle will assist them to operationalize their field activities.
Marangach said that the office has been grappling with lack of a vehicle for its field operations for years.
She called for gazetting of the sub-county as a hardship area, saying that navigating the hilly terrain and impassable roads have always given them sleepless nights during monitoring.
“We are now a sub-county that matches the rest of Busia county,” quipped a school head from the area.
“It is now easier to recognize the officers when they visit our schools,” said another.
