Relief as KNEC releases KCSE results for Samoei Boys, Tachasis Girls

The Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) has finally released the 2023 KCSE results for Samoei Boys Secondary School in Nandi County.

The results had been withheld following suspicion of irregularities during the examinations.

The school recorded 35 A minus and 143 B plus, its impressive results placing it second in the county after Kapsabet Boys High School.

Principal Kiptoo Kimosop praised the 2023 class for their dedication and hard work, saying that all 292 candidates qualified for direct university entry.

“We thank God for the sterling performance. We look forward to better KCSE results this year,” he said.

Two days ago, the Council also released KCSE results for Tachasis Girls High School which had a mean score of 7.9.

The decision to withhold the results attracted mixed reactions, with residents led by Nandi Hills Member of Parliament (MP) Bernard Kitur threatening to sue KNEC.

“Samoei Boys is in the heart of Nandi Hills. How can you withhold students’ exams on cheating claims yet you don’t have evidence? I want KNEC to release the exams immediately, failure to which we shall head to court,” MP Kitur said earlier.
