Ramba High School performed exceptionally well in Nakuru’s just-concluded national drama and festival and is heading for the regional fete later in August.
The August festival will feature schools that performed well in their respective countries. These schools will now participate in Arusha’s East Africa Drama and Music Festival.
The school in Rarieda Sub-county, Siaya County, emerged tops in the choral verse category, beating a field of contestants.
Senior Principal Wickliffe Manoah commended the boys for the splendid feat in Nakuru.

Manoah said the boys worked hard despite stiff competition from other well-established learning institutions.
According to co-directors and patrons Agik George and Nyamwanda Jacktone, the Choral verse ‘Zitafunguka’ is about a community that doesn’t value education but encourages its children to engage in cattle rustling despite getting sponsors.
They finally accept the sponsorship, enabling their children to develop various inventions that benefit the community.
The duo said they did well due to the commitment of the students and directors and the strong support from the principal.
“Despite the tragedy that befell the school, resulting in the loss of two students and the abrupt closure of the school, they still managed to come back from home and perform the following day,” they said.
Owen Habel Lwanda wrote the verse and it was later taken by the two directors.
