President Ruto orders MoE to further postpone school reopening indefinitely

President William Ruto has instructed the MoE to further postpone the reopening of schools, but this time no dates are given.

News just in are that President William Ruto has directed the Ministry of Education (MoE) to postpone the school reopening dates “until further notice” due to the ongoing heavy rains.

He said this during his address to the nation this afternoon.

“The Ministry of Education is directed to postpone the reopening of all schools in the country for the second term until further notice,” said Ruto a while ago, appearing to suggest that more heavy and devastating rains are expected going forward, including bad weather like cyclones for the very first time.

The initial school reopening date had been pushed from Monday April 29 to Monday May 6, 2024.

Earlier, Machogu had issued guidelines for safe reopening of schools through a circular dated May 2, 2024.
