Police in Makueni County have launched a manhunt for a middle-aged man accused of defiling his nine-year old daughter in Kambuku, Kilungu Sub-county.

Stephen Monyi, the assistant chief of Ilima, revealed that the victim is a Grade Five pupil at Kambuku Primary School.

According to Monyi, the girl received treatment at Kyambeke Dispensary following the incident, and the case was reported to the police.

He said the man escaped into thin air after committing the heinous act.

“The father lives in Nairobi but comes once in a while. We were not able to apprehend him, but he is being sought after. On the fateful day, he came and took the girl and her three brothers from their grandmother’s house before committing the crime,” said the chief.

The girl and her grandmother have already recorded their statements at Kyambeke Police Station, and investigations are underway.

A teacher at the school described the girl as a good student, emphasizing the need for justice to be expedited.
