Over 13,000 needy students benefit as Kitutu Masaba NG-CDF releases Ksh 74M bursary

Kitutu Masaba National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF) in Nyamira County has disbursed Ksh 74.074 million cheque to support students in universities, middle-level colleges, and secondary schools.

The funds were distributed in two phases, with the second phase involving cheques worth Ksh 40 million benefiting 13,603 students.

Area MP Clive Gisairo speaking during the fund release said that he is prioritizing education as the only weapon to eradicate poverty in the region.

He urged the Nyamira County leadership to improve also Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) facilities to better foundational learning.

The MP also advised students to focus on their studies, avoid bad influences, and live a dignified life.

He said the NG-CDF committee scrutinized applications for fair awarding. The money was released to institutions for secondary and middle-level colleges, while university cheques will be deposited in two weeks.

He urged parents and guardians to monitor their children, saying education development and success require collective responsibility, rather than blaming others when problems arise.
