Orogare beat Nyamondo Junior Secondary in boys’ soccer to defend their supremacy in the ongoing Kisii Junior Secondary Schools (JSS) county games and sports.
The strongly contested matches, which involved all 11 sub-counties in Kisii, were held at Cardinal Otunga-Mosocho High School in Kisii Central Sub-County.
Orogare floored Nyamondo from Etago Sub-county after the game went into extra time at a 2- 2 draw at the official time.
Then the teams were offered more time when Orogare emerged victorious by scoring four goals against their opponents’ two.

The head teacher of Orogare Junior Secondary School, William Ali, was excited over the win.
He said it took a consolidation effort to defend their championship and promised to stand with the game’s teachers to enable them to move to higher levels.
“I know they have the potential of going further than this, and my office will give them the required effort,” he said.
The team captain, Fredrick Nyandwaro, said it took them a lot of discipline, training, and devotion to reach that level and expressed optimism about succeeding in the remaining regional competitions.
During the semi-finals teams played in the following order: Nyamindo beat Nyabigege 3-2 while Keberesi was hammered 2-0 by Orogare to emerge as eminent qualifiers.
Kisii County Director of Education Philip Chirchir thanked teachers for preparing teams to play harmoniously and wished the winning teams success as they proceed to the regionals.
