St. Peter’s Nyakemincha high school in Nyamira County has solidified its position as one of the premier educational institutions in the Gusii region, following outstanding academic achievements in the 2025 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations.
In line with its vision to “Be a Center of Academic Excellence,” the school recorded an impressive mean score of 9.06, ranking it among the top three schools in Gusii. This marks a steady rise from a mean score of 8.1 in 2024 and 7.8 in 2023, reflecting consistent academic growth year after year.
The 2025 KCSE results also showcased exceptional individual performances. A total of 47 students attained grade A-, with 128 students scoring B+, 317 students earning a B (plain), and 128 students receiving a B-. Only 23 candidates scored C+, and three students achieved a C (plain).
Among the 646 candidates who sat for the exam, an impressive 643 students achieved university-entry grades of C+ and above, translating into a pass rate of 97.13 percent. This excellent performance further solidifies the school’s reputation as a top performer in the region.
The achievements of St. Peter’s Nyakemincha mark a remarkable turnaround for the Nyakemincha name, which once garnered national attention after Nyakemincha Primary School posted some of the lowest KCPE scores in 2011. Today, however, Nyakemincha High School stands as a symbol of academic resilience and transformation.
