Nyamira County residents are mourning the loss of former teacher and politician, Benson Kegoro Ogero who died at a Nairobi hospital.
Speaking to mourners at the late Ogero’s home, Nyamira Senator Okong’o Omogeni praised Ogero as a visionary leader and lamented the challenge of filling the gap left by his passing.
“Ogero, born in the 1930s in Bosamasoro village, was a dedicated primary teacher in Gusii land before successfully vying for the MP seat in West Mugirango in 1970,” stated his son George Gekoro.
He is survived by adult children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
