In a thrilling finale of the Kisumu County Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) girls’ rugby championship, Nyakach Girls emerged victorious over Sigoti Complex Girls after a dramatic 39–39 stalemate pushed the encounter into a shootout.
The high energy match saw both teams unleash relentless offensive plays, ending regular time with an astonishing 39–39 draw. The scoreline showcased the tactical brilliance and resilience from both sides, a true testament to the growing stature of girls’ rugby in the region.
With no extra time provisions, the tie was decided through penalties. Nyakach Girls managed to edge out Sigoti Complex Girls by a solitary point, 1-0, sending their fans into wild celebration.

Despite the heartbreaking loss, Sigoti Complex Girls walked away with their heads high, having displayed exceptional skill and tenacity throughout the tournament.
