Murang’a University of Technology has directed all students to complete mandatory semester reporting through its online portal by Monday, October 19, 2026, as the institution prepares for end-of-semester examinations.

In a notice dated October 15, the university said the exercise would help it establish the number of students currently on campus, enabling it to plan adequately for examination facilities and other necessary resources.

The directive applies to all students, regardless of their current tuition fee payment status.

According to the notice issued by the Registrar for Academic, Research and Student Affairs, Prof Richard Juma, students are required to log into the university’s student portal at https://studentportal.mut.ac.ke/ to complete the process.

They should access the Academics tab, select Semester Reporting and then choose Report for Session to submit their details.

Fee clearance not required for reporting

The university clarified that students do not need to have cleared their tuition fees to complete the reporting exercise, stressing that every student must comply with the directive before the deadline.

It warned that students who fail to report through the portal by Monday will be presumed to have deferred their studies or proceeded on academic leave.

University prepares for examinations

The exercise comes as the university prepares for end-of-semester examinations, with the institution seeking to establish accurate student numbers to facilitate effective planning and allocation of resources.

The notice was copied to the Vice-Chancellor, Deputy Vice-Chancellor in charge of Academic and Student Affairs and the Finance Officer.
