Heads of institutions in Matungulu Sub-County have been warned against aiding, abetting or entertaining examination malpractice as the country prepares for the upcoming national examinations.
Speaking during a KNEC briefing at Tala Girls High School, Matungulu Sub-County Director of Education Lilian Gitahi cautioned school heads and other officials involved in the examination process to strictly adhere to the rules and regulations governing national examinations.
Gitahi warned that there should be no assistance to candidates that could compromise the integrity of the examinations, urging school heads to take responsibility and ensure all examination procedures are followed to the letter.
“Do not try to aid cheating in the exams. Action will be taken against any candidate, teacher or school found culpable,” said Gitahi.
Matungulu Sub-County is expected to present thousands of candidates for the various national assessments, with 4,053 candidates sitting the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), 4,261 sitting the Kenya Junior School Education Assessment (KJSEA), and 4,726 candidates registered for the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
The large number of candidates has placed increased responsibility on schools, teachers and examination officials to ensure the assessments are conducted smoothly and fairly.

Meanwhile, Matungulu KESSHA Chairperson David Muange said schools across the sub-county are fully prepared for the examinations.
Muange also called on parents to play their part by supporting their children and providing a conducive environment at home throughout the examination period.
